#Saindhav Movie Review : Venkatesh film

Saindhav is a Telugu-language action thriller film starring Venkatesh, Shraddha Srinath, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who previously made the HIT series. The film is Venkatesh's 75th film in his career, and was released on January 13, 2024.

The film revolves around Saindhav (Venkatesh), a former member of a drug cartel, who lives with his daughter Gayatri (Sara Palekar) in a fictional city called Chandraprastha. He works as a crane operator and tries to stay away from his past. However, when his daughter is diagnosed with a rare and expensive disease, he is forced to return to his old ways and confront his enemies, led by Vikas (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a psychotic and ruthless criminal.

The film is a mix of John Wick, Drushyam, and a medical thriller, with elements of Indian mythology and culture. The film tries to be a grand and spectacular superhero saga, but fails to deliver a fresh and original story. The film has many flaws, such as a predictable and cliched plot, weak characterization, logical loopholes, unnecessary and forced songs, romance, and comedy, poor editing, and inconsistent dubbing.

The film has some positive aspects, such as the cinematography, the background score, the visual effects, and the action sequences. The film also has a patriotic and spiritual touch, as it celebrates the culture and the values of India. The film also has a message of doing good deeds and being loyal to one's roots.

The performances of the actors are decent, but not remarkable. Venkatesh plays a routine action role, that does not suit his age or his image. He does not have much scope to show his range or versatility. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the main attraction of the film, as he plays a menacing and idiosyncratic villain. He shows his acting and action skills, but also irritates with his Hindi-Telugu mix dialogue delivery and overdosed histrionics. Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, and Jaya Prakash have regular roles, that do not have much impact. The other actors, such as Arya, Jisshu Sengupta, and Andrea Jeremiah, are wasted in their roles.

Overall, Saindhav is a huge letdown, and an utterly avoidable film. It is a boring and amateurish action drama, that has nothing to offer to the audience. It is not a worthy film for Venkatesh's 75th milestone, and does not live up to the expectations of the director's previous films. It is a film that can be easily skipped, without any regret.
