Director gives update on Ustad in Tirupati

Power Star Pawan Kalyan is all set to make a strong comeback to the big screen, with his long-awaited film Hari Hara Veera Mallu scheduled to hit theatres on June 12. The film carries heightened expectations, especially as it marks his release in the role of Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister. Initially launched under the direction of Krish, the film was eventually completed by director Jyothi Krishna. Backed by veteran producer A. M. Rathnam, this historical action drama has been in the making for several years.

Delays plagued the project due to Pawan Kalyan’s active involvement in politics and public service. However, with the actor allocating time specifically to wrap up his pending films, fans are thrilled to finally witness progress on multiple fronts.

Following the completion of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan immediately turned his attention to OG, another much-anticipated film. A major shooting schedule was recently wrapped up in Mumbai, with key cast and crew in attendance. Directed by Saaho fame Sujeeth, OG features Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, while Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi plays a pivotal role. This film too is shaping up to be a big release for 2025.

Apart from these two films, Pawan Kalyan is also involved in a third project titled Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is being directed by Harish Shankar. Though initially announced as an official remake of a Tamil film, recent updates suggest that the script has now been tweaked into a fresh storyline within a similar genre. The film had completed one schedule before being paused due to Pawan’s political commitments. Yet, determined not to abandon any ongoing ventures, the actor has given the green signal to resume work.

Speaking from Tirupati after visiting Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, director Harish Shankar confirmed that filming for Ustaad Bhagat Singh will recommence in the second week of June. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers on a grand scale, the team is planning to finish the shoot within 45 days, utilizing previously shot sequences where possible.

With Hari Hara Veera Mallu and OG expected to release this year, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh targeting an early or summer 2026 release, fans are looking forward to an exciting lineup. Whether these three films will satisfy the massive expectations surrounding Pawan Kalyan’s return to cinema remains to be seen — but the buzz is undeniably strong.
