Tragic Fire in Dwarka Sector-13 : Father and Two Children Die

A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday morning in the Shapath Society, located in Dwarka Sector-13, New Delhi, claiming the lives of a man and his two children. In a desperate attempt to escape the flames, the man jumped from the 8th floor with his children, leading to fatal injuries.

The victim, 35-year-old Yash Yadav, lived with his wife and three children in the apartment. He ran a flex board business and was the family’s sole breadwinner. Around 9:58 AM, fire erupted on the 8th and 9th floors of the building, causing panic among residents. As smoke and flames engulfed their flat, Yash’s wife and elder son became trapped inside.

In a heart-wrenching attempt to save his remaining two children, Yash jumped from the 8th floor while holding them. Unfortunately, the fall resulted in critical injuries, and all three were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Local residents quickly alerted the fire department. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) responded promptly, deploying 13 fire engines and 88 personnel to battle the blaze. Firefighters worked extensively to bring the fire under control and evacuate other residents safely.

Yash Yadav’s wife and elder son were rescued from the flames with severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. Authorities evacuated the entire building as a precautionary measure and disconnected electricity and piped gas supply to prevent further hazards.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have been informed to assess the structural integrity of the building post-incident. Relief teams have been stationed at Akash and IGI hospitals to assist the injured and affected families.

This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about fire safety and emergency preparedness in high-rise residential buildings.
