WEATHER : Rainfall Alert for Telugu States – IMD Issues Weather Warning

Hyderabad/Amaravati: The monsoon seems to be arriving ahead of schedule, bringing with it a spell of widespread rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh alert predicting heavy rains across several districts in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next three days. Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are expected to affect normal life in many areas.

In Telangana, districts including Nizamabad, Nirmal, Adilabad, Medak, Warangal, Khammam, and Mahabubnagar are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall, according to IMD. Winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h may sweep across various parts of the state. The department also warned of thunder and lightning in isolated places.

In Andhra Pradesh, districts such as Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore are expected to receive light to heavy showers. The rains are attributed to a low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal.

Public Urged to Stay Alert

With rainfall intensity likely to increase, IMD has urged the public to remain vigilant. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas are advised to take necessary precautions. Authorities have been instructed to remain on high alert.

State disaster response teams have been put on standby, and emergency measures are being readied to ensure timely assistance if needed. The government has also directed local bodies to monitor vulnerable zones and take preventive steps.

Citizens are advised to follow the latest weather updates and advisories issued by the IMD and stay tuned to official bulletins and media alerts.
